Arthur Gu

Arthur Gu
Post Production Supervisor

After almost ten years of study in biochemistry and molecular biology culminating in PhD level research at UCLA medical lab, Arthur Gu decided to turn in his lab coat and pick up four essentials to his life: a surfboard, two dogs, a jazz guitar, and most importantly a camera to pursue his life-long passion in film and television. Arthur’s newfound career path led him to build his own production company, Brindle Productions where he creates strategically sound, creatively brilliant integrated communications, multimedia, and marketing solutions for clients.

Prior to becoming a completely independent artist, Arthur enjoyed a decade-long tenure as Director of Multimedia for 1-800-DENTIST. During his time with the company, he shepherded the production and direction of over 70 nationally aired television broadcast commercials and was the recipient of a Telly Award for Best Animated Commercial.

Over the years, Arthur’s credits includes all forms of video from ideation to post-production, including television commercials, branded content, sizzle reels, broadcast and cable television shows, and documentaries. He most recently shot and directed two episodes of Study America, an internationally produced Chinese language travel show.

As he approaches new creative projects, he brings the same level of scientific inquiry, curiosity, and attention to detail that he brought to the university lab, which makes him an invaluable Post Production Supervisor for Travelscope. He joined the team in 2013, and found Travelscope to be an ideal opportunity to feed his passion for travel and deepens his appreciation for the amalgamation of cultures and traditions. As a member of the team, Arthur’s role ensures that editing elements needed for the final completion and distribution of the show are delivered on time and reflective of the highest standards of production that the public has come to expect and appreciate.
