Director of Photography
Recently receiving an Emmy Award in cinematography for his work on Joseph Rosendo’s Travelscope, Zebediah Smith has worked in documentary television for the past decade from many angles including director of photography, producer, production supervisor, and editor. On the commercial side he has worked with clients such as Verizon, Toyota, Virgin America, and United, but his passion lies in independent documentary work. He continues to be involved with projects for PBS, Travel Channel, Discovery and Oxygen that give an opportunity to explore and expand the world’s incredible diversity. Filming and editing over 20 episodes of Joseph Rosendo’s Travelscope on PBS gave him the opportunity to shoot, edit, and work as post-production supervisor. He has traveled the world, filming in over 30 countries while trekking the Himalayas, joining tribal rituals in the high Andes, and communing with Gorillas in Rwandan jungles. At home in the U.S., Zebediah co-produced and edited the Sundance Documentary Fund winner WHATEVER IT TAKES, which won Audience Awards and Grand Jury Prizes at festivals across the US for it’s intimate, character-driven cinéma vérité style. He looks forward to continuing to be a part of in-depth productions that inspire, inform, and entertain audiences worldwide.
